Jones Lang LaSalle is represented in Russian Green Building Council

Ksenia Agapova joined Board of Directors of RuGBC

Moscow, 2 May 2012 – Jones Lang LaSalle is glad to announce that Ksenia Agapova, sustainability manager of Jones Lang LaSalle, Russia&CIS, became a member of Russian Green Building Council Board of Directors.

The Russian Green Building Council is a not-profit industry organization dedicated to accelerating development and adoption of market-based green building practices. The principal roles of the Russian Green Building Council are to create a national standard for green building in Russia, provide business with a knowledge base for sustainable design and to educate practitioners about green buildings by offering wide range of educational opportunities.

Over the years professionals of Jones Lang LaSalle have been using their sustainability expertise to advise their clients and to deliver superior operating results. Jones Lang LaSalle professionals have been instrumental in  securing energy and sustainability certifications at more than 200 buildings and commercial interiors  around the world.  The firm has installed or advised on 1,400 MW of wind and biomass energy projects, and in 2010 saved clients $128 million in energy costs, avoiding 563,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2011 1,075 commercial real estate professionals in 29 offices of Jones Lang LaSallewere accredited with either AIEMA, BREEAM, CBCP, CEM, DCEP, Green Globes, Green Mark, Green Star, LEED or NABERS. Thus the company has expanded the reach of its sustainability accredited professionals to 29 countries and exceeded its publicly stated goal to reach 1,000 accredited professionals by the end of 2012.

Ksenia Agapova was on the forefront of Russian green building trend. She became a co-founding member of the Russian Green Building Council and on early stages got involved in adaptation of BREEAM to Russian grounds.

In 2004 Ksenia graduated from Moscow State University with degree in ecology and sustainable development. Now she is getting MBA in the University of Manchester (specialization: construction executive). Ksenia is accredited LEED Green Associate, BREEAM In-Use Auditor, BREEAM International Assessor and have numerous publications in branch media.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle Ksenia worked as a Sustainability Solutions Director at NAI Becar (Russia), Marketing Director in the Russian Green Building Council and Executive Director of the Russian branch of Willen Associates Architects GmbH.

Ksenia’s professional successes include relationship establishment with international green NGOs – World GBC, BRE Global, ICSC, FSC, Greenpeace, Russian and International press, key Russian developers and investors, involvement in international adaptation group of BREEAM In-Use, strategic planning and execution of report on implementation of green building standards for Sochi 2014 and report on international green building standards for UNDP Kazakhstan Energy Efficiency Programme, initiative and conduction of the first marketing research on green building in Russia.
